BENGALURU — Bengaluru police have apprehended a 22-year-old migrant worker from Bihar in connection with the brutal murder of his 25-year-old wife. The accused, identified as Mohammad Irfaj, allegedly confessed to killing his wife, Ruksana, following intense domestic disputes fueled by suspicions of infidelity.
According to preliminary findings by our investigative team and local law enforcement details, the crime occurred on October 10. However, the grim reality of the incident came to light three days later, on October 13, when local authorities recovered Ruksana's body from a stormwater drain in the city.
Background and Arrest
Police investigations reveal that Irfaj and Ruksana, both natives of Bihar, had been married for approximately one year. Ruksana was previously married and had a child from her first union, from whom she had legally and socially separated before tying the knot with Irfaj.
Local law enforcement officials stated that marital discord had escalated in recent weeks, driven primarily by Irfaj's persistent suspicions regarding his wife's fidelity. The situation culminated in the fatal assault on October 10.
