Delhi University has issued detailed selection procedures and eligibility rules for academic mobility under Erasmus agreements.

New Framework for International Academic Exchange

The University of Delhi (DU) has officially outlined a comprehensive set of eligibility criteria and selection procedures for students, PhD scholars, teaching staff, and non-teaching personnel seeking mobility opportunities under its Erasmus inter-institutional agreements with foreign higher education establishments.

The newly established framework delineates distinct selection pathways depending on whether an Erasmus agreement is managed locally by an individual academic department or administered centrally through the university's International Relations office.

Structured Selection Process for Students and Scholars

For programs coordinated by individual departments under the overarching guidance of the International Relations office, the respective department will directly invite, process, and screen applications from candidates.

A specialized departmental selection committee has been mandated for this process. It will comprise: * The Head of the Department * The former department head (or the senior-most faculty member if the former head is retired) * The next senior-most faculty member * A representative nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Chairperson of International Relations * The department's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) coordinator

In cases where Erasmus agreements are handled directly by the central International Relations office, the office will circulate calls for applications to all relevant departments and colleges while publishing notices on its official web portal.

Applications must be fully completed, officially endorsed by the Head of the Institution, and submitted prior to the stipulated deadline. A central selection committee—consisting of the Chairperson of International Relations, the Dean of Academic Affairs (or nominee), the Dean of the respective faculty (or nominee), the relevant Department Head or Centre Director, and the Chairperson (or nominee) of the Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council—will oversee the final vetting.

Strict Eligibility Thresholds Imposed

Students enrolled at Delhi University aiming for short-term or long-term mobility assignments must satisfy rigorous academic and administrative prerequisites:

* Academic Record: Applicants must have cleared all papers in completed semesters without any essential repeat (ER). Candidates awaiting results must submit provisional transcripts promptly. * Attendance: A strict minimum attendance requirement of 66.67 percent is mandatory. * CGPA Cut-Offs: Cumulative grade point average thresholds have been set at 7.5 for Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates, and 6.5 for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) applicants. * Additional Requirements: Candidates must also demonstrate requisite language proficiency, possess a valid passport with at least two years of remaining validity, and meet program-specific prior participation guidelines.
