Anticipation Builds for JEE Main 2027 Registrations

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to officially commence the registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 Session 1 in the coming days. Prospective engineering, architecture, and planning aspirants can complete their applications exclusively through the official testing portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in once the link goes live.

According to the official examination calendar released earlier by the NTA, the computer-based test for Session 1 is scheduled to take place on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30, 2027. Additionally, January 31 has been designated as a buffer date to accommodate any unforeseen logistical adjustments.

Examination Structure and Papers

The national-level engineering entrance exam will continue to feature three distinct papers tailored to different professional streams:

- Paper 1: Designed for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) aspirants. - Paper 2A: Tailored for candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) courses. - Paper 2B: Structured for Bachelor of Planning (BPlanning) applicants.

Examinations for Paper 1 are generally structured for a duration of three hours, while candidates opting for both BArch and BPlanning papers will be allocated three and a half hours. Historically, the testing agency conducts examinations across two shifts—the first shift running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (or 12:30 PM for extended papers) and the second shift spanning from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM.

Essential Checklist of Documents for Application

To ensure a seamless registration experience, candidates must keep scanned copies of specific documents ready prior to filling out the online application form:

1. Passport-size Photograph: Clear, recent passport photograph in JPG or JPEG format against a white background. 2. Candidate Signature: Digital signature executed on white paper using black ink. 3. Academic Credentials: Class 10 or equivalent certificate and marksheet for verification of personal details and date of birth. 4. Category Certificates: PwD or PwBD certificates issued by competent authorities, if applicable.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limits

Reiterating the NTA's standardized guidelines, there is no upper age limit for candidates appearing in JEE Main 2027. Students who have successfully cleared their Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination in 2025, 2026, or those currently appearing for the examination in 2027 are fully eligible to register, regardless of their age.

Aspirants are strongly advised to regularly monitor the official NTA website for the official notification and immediate updates regarding the opening of the application window.
