Predawn Terror in Pitampura

Law enforcement authorities in the national capital have launched an intensive manhunt following a targeted shooting outside the residence of a Dubai-based businessman in northwest Delhi's Pitampura area. The incident, which unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday, has triggered serious security concerns and drawn immediate scrutiny from specialized crime units.

According to the Delhi Police, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle in the A-Block of Lok Vihar at approximately 5:00 AM. Surveillance footage from the vicinity indicates that the pillion rider dismounted and discharged multiple rounds directly toward the target property.

Property Damage and Forensic Findings

Investigators confirmed that roughly six rounds were fired during the brief attack. The bullets impacted the facade of the residence directly opposite the shooters, leaving four to five distinct marks. Additionally, a vehicle parked outside the premises sustained three bullet impacts. Miraculously, no injuries were reported despite the heavy barrage.

Forensic experts from the Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) swiftly secured the crime scene. Authorities recovered one live cartridge and two empty cartridge cases from the paved street. The physical evidence, along with the targeted vehicle, has been formally seized for detailed ballistic examination.

Extortion Angles and Past Threats

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akansha Yadav stated that investigators are actively exploring all potential motives, with extortion remaining a primary hypothesis. Police are probing whether the attack was orchestrated to intimidate the businessman, identified as Sahil Jain, commonly known as Google.

Crucially, the investigation has taken a sensitive turn as detectives examine potential links to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Police records indicate that Jain had previously received a threatening phone call and audio message from Bishnoi in 2021, prompting an official case registration by the Special Cell in 2023.

"There was no fresh threat reported after the 2023 case," DCP Yadav noted during a briefing. "No individual or syndicate has claimed responsibility for this morning's firing so far, but our teams are aggressively analyzing intelligence feeds and entry-exit routes."

Comprehensive Manhunt Underway

Specialized police teams are currently reviewing extensive CCTV footage from surrounding arterial roads to track the suspects' movements before and after the attack. Visuals captured by private cameras show the rider wearing a helmet while the accomplice's face was partially concealed by a cloth.

Authorities have appealed to local residents for any additional information as the search for the motorcycle-borne suspects intensifies across the northwest district. Further developments are awaited as forensic and intelligence units piece together the conspiracy.
