Kanpur Dehat Horror: Man Stabbed to Death Over Bizarre Witchcraft Suspicions
A 30-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Dehat was brutally murdered by three neighbors who blamed his family for practicing witchcraft.

Tragedy Strikes Galouli Village
A horrific incident in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Dehat district has left a local community in shock after a 30-year-old man was beaten and stabbed to death in broad daylight. The violent assault, which stemmed from superstitious beliefs and bizarre accusations of witchcraft, has resulted in the swift arrest of three individuals by local law enforcement.
The victim, identified as Ramganesh, was attacked directly outside his residence in Galouli village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Musanagar police station. According to investigators, the deadly confrontation erupted after Ramganesh firmly rejected accusations leveled against his elderly father.
Anatomy of the Attack
Local authorities revealed that the dispute began when the health of a neighbor's young daughter began to deteriorate. Rather than seeking medical intervention, the child's family allegedly convinced themselves that supernatural forces were at play.
Satyam Kashyap, his cousin Raghavendra Kashyap, and Raghavendra's wife, Radha Kashyap, targeted Ramganesh's family, specifically blaming the victim's father, Pannalal, of practicing black magic to afflict the ailing child.
On the fateful Thursday afternoon, tensions boiled over. When Ramganesh confronted the neighbors and denied the baseless allegations, the situation escalated into extreme violence. The three accused cornered him outside his home, subjecting him to a severe beating before stabbing him multiple times in the abdomen.
Swift Police Action
Hearing the commotion, Ramganesh's wife, Rachna, rushed to his aid and frantically transported him to a nearby district hospital. However, the severity of his injuries proved fatal, and attending medical professionals pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Circle Officer (Bhognipur) Rajeev Sirohi confirmed that police acted promptly following a formal complaint lodged by the grieving widow.
"We have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and successfully apprehended all three accused individuals," Sirohi stated. Investigators have also recovered the weapon—a knife—allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
The incident highlights the persistent, dark shadow of superstition and blind faith in rural pockets of the country, prompting renewed calls from civil society for rigorous educational and social awareness campaigns to combat dangerous witchcraft allegations.
