Security Alert in Mumbai: American School and BMC Receive Threatening Emails Highlighting Punjab Link
Mumbai Police launch an investigation after an American school in BKC and the BMC receive alarming threat emails mentioning celebrities and a Punjab link.

Security Heightened Across Mumbai Following Threat Emails
Law enforcement agencies in Mumbai have launched a high-priority investigation after an American school located in the city's prominent Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) received a threatening email. The communication, which has triggered heightened security measures across the financial capital, explicitly mentioned Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan alongside several other notable celebrities.
According to preliminary inputs gathered by investigative teams, the menacing email also made direct references to a legal or security case originating from the northern state of Punjab. Authorities are currently working to ascertain the exact motive behind referencing high-profile individuals and cross-state matters in the correspondence.
Thorough Searches Yield No Suspicious Findings
In a parallel development earlier the same day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters also received a similarly worded threatening electronic communication. Prompted by the alerts, local law enforcement and bomb disposal squads swiftly mobilized, conducting exhaustive search and sanitization operations at both the BKC educational facility and municipal headquarters.
Senior police officials confirmed that after thorough sweeps of the premises, no suspicious objects, explosive devices, or hazardous materials were located. Despite the negative search results, security has been visibly ramped up around key installations and sensitive zones across the metropolis.
Pattern of Hoax Threats Under Scrutiny
Investigators are examining potential links between the latest communications and previous security scares in the city. In March, the Mumbai Press Club received a similarly detailed threat warning claiming that 42 small devices filled with poisonous gas had been planted inside the building, slated to detonate at a specific afternoon hour. That particular email was traced back to an alias identified as Neeraja Ajmal Khan.
Cyber cell units and specialized cyber-crime branches of the Mumbai Police are currently analyzing server logs, IP addresses, and routing data to trace the origins of the latest emails. Officials have urged citizens and institution management to remain vigilant while assuring the public that all necessary protocols are firmly in place to maintain law and order.
