Mumbai Security Apparatus on High Alert After Juhu Drive-By Shooting

Investigators probing the brazen daylight shooting targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have uncovered deep operational ties to organized crime. According to law enforcement sources, Hritik Kumar, also known as Roshan, spent nearly a year operating as a sleeper cell member for the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate in Mumbai prior to the attack.

The high-profile shooting occurred on Sunday evening in Mumbai's upscale Juhu neighborhood as the 36-year-old actor returned from a football match. While Shroff escaped unhurt from the passenger seat of his BMW, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries when gunmen opened fire, discharging at least seven rounds into the vehicle.

Covert Surveillance Under the Guise of Gig Work

Police inquiries reveal that Hritik, a native of Begusarai, Bihar, blended seamlessly into the city's gig economy by working as a bike-taxi rider and delivery agent. This employment allegedly provided him with unrestricted access to upscale residential enclaves where prominent film personalities reside.

Investigators disclosed that the suspect systematically recorded video footage of target locations and celebrity residences, transmitting the intelligence back to syndicate handlers. To establish a legitimate footprint in the financial capital, Hritik temporarily relocated across multiple western suburbs including Goregaon, Juhu, and Andheri East, eventually procuring a local Aadhaar card to avoid raising suspicion.

Financial tracking indicates that the accused received steady monetary stipends from the syndicate to cover his living expenses in Mumbai, sustained by promises of a lucrative payout and advancement within the criminal network following high-impact assignments.

Swift Inter-State Arrest and Ongoing Manhunt

Following the shooting, security camera footage captured two assailants fleeing the scene before joining a third accomplice on a motorcycle, which was later abandoned in Andheri. The primary suspects subsequently traversed to Surat before boarding the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express.

Joint law enforcement teams intercepted the train at Kota Railway Station on Monday, successfully apprehending three suspects: Hritik, 18-year-old Rehan from Haryana, and 18-year-old Phool Singh from Haryana. Preliminary interrogations indicate the cell intended to transit through Delhi toward Nepal.

Mumbai Police have intensified custodial questioning of the accused to dismantle the syndicate's broader logistical framework in Maharashtra and identify remaining co-conspirators linked to the conspiracy against prominent entertainment figures.
