Karnataka Land Dispute Escalates as Man Allegedly Runs Over Sister-in-Law with Vehicle in Bagalkot
A brutal land dispute in Karnataka's Bagalkot district turned violent when a man allegedly rammed his Bolero vehicle into his sister-in-law, leaving her with serious internal injuries.

Brutal Attack Caught on Camera Amid Land Dispute
A bitter property dispute over a six-acre plot in Karnataka's Bagalkot district took a violent and shocking turn on Saturday, when a woman was allegedly run over by her brother-in-law in an apparent attempt to take her life.
The victim, identified as Mangala Devi Nadagowda, sustained severe leg and internal injuries during the incident. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Bagalkot, where medical professionals are currently treating her.
According to initial findings by Daily News 365 correspondents, the horrific episode was captured on mobile phone video by bystanders. Footage from the scene reportedly features Mangala Devi’s daughter desperately pleading with the accused not to harm her mother moments before the vehicle struck.
Property Tensions and Escalation
Investigators looking into the case revealed that the underlying conflict stems from ownership and cultivation rights over a contested six-acre parcel of agricultural land. Tensions reached a boiling point after Mangala Devi recently had the property officially surveyed, fenced, and cultivated.
The accused, identified as Chennappagowda, fiercely objected to the land survey, claiming it was conducted surreptitiously and in his absence. Prior to Saturday's violent confrontation, Chennappagowda had allegedly ploughed over the field where Mangala Devi had recently sown crops.
The attack occurred while Mangala Devi was working in a separate field. Witnesses and local reports indicate that Chennappagowda deliberately drove a Bolero vehicle straight at her, trapping her beneath the wheels.
Local Reactions and Police Investigation
Local law enforcement agencies have registered a formal case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident, gathering forensic evidence and witness testimonies to piece together the sequence of events.
The gravity of the situation has also drawn regional political attention. Both families are reportedly related to former Karnataka minister S.R. Patil, who personally visited the private hospital in Bagalkot to check on Mangala Devi's medical status and express concern over the violent escalation of the family feud.
Daily News 365 will continue to track developments in this developing criminal investigation as police prepare to question the accused and formalize charges.
