Festive Heist Leaves Greater Noida Family Devastated

What was meant to be a joyous festive trip home turned into a nightmare for a family in Greater Noida, who returned from their hometown to find their high-rise apartment ransacked and gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs 1 crore stolen.

The brazen burglary, which occurred during the Navratri festival, took place at ATS Dolce Society located in Zeta 1 under the jurisdiction of the Surajpur police station. According to investigators, the victimized family locked their fourth-floor flat on October 17 at around 8:00 PM and traveled to Ratautha village in Bihar's Munger district for a family visit.

Upon returning late at night on October 22, the homeowners unlocked their main door to discover utter chaos. Wardrobes were torn open, clothes were scattered across the floor, and bedroom lockers had been forcefully broken open.

Audacity of the Intruders

Adding insult to injury, the perpetrators displayed an extraordinary level of comfort during the heist. The family reported that the thieves did not merely target their valuables—consisting of extensive gold and silver ornaments belonging to Aparna Jha and her mother—they also opened and completely emptied a full bottle of premium Black Label whiskey kept in the residence.

The intruders left the empty bottle and used glasses behind, and even used the apartment's bathroom without flushing, signaling a chilling disregard for law enforcement and property owners.

Resident Outrage and Security Concerns

The incident has sparked massive outrage among residents of the ATS Dolce Society. Community members have pointed fingers squarely at the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) and the society's private security agency, citing severe lapses in vigilance.

Locals allege that security protocols were heavily compromised during a Dandiya event organized within the residential complex during the Navratri celebrations, which reportedly allowed unchecked entry to outsiders. Investigators believe the perpetrators capitalized on the festive crowd to gain unhindered access to the residential tower.

Police Investigation Underway

Local law enforcement authorities have registered an official case and launched a comprehensive manhunt to apprehend the culprits.

"We have received a formal complaint regarding the theft of jewellery valued at around Rs 1 crore," a senior police official stated. "Teams are currently examining high-resolution CCTV footage from across the society premises, and security guards are being interrogated to piece together the sequence of events and identify the suspects."

As the probe widens, the incident has renewed urgent discussions surrounding residential security standards across gated communities in the National Capital Region.
