Convergence of Minds in New Delhi

NEW DELHI — As geopolitical and technological shifts rapidly reshape the international landscape, global leaders, innovators, and cultural icons have converged for a premier two-day international summit under the overarching theme, "A World Between Orders."

Eminent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, and renowned music composer Mohini Dey, are leading high-level dialogues examining global capital flows, energy transitions, aerospace advancements, and India's expanding role on the world stage.

The Intersection of Consciousness and Code

One of the most anticipated intellectual highlights of the gathering centers on the philosophical implications of artificial intelligence. Swami Sarvapriyananda, a prominent New York-based monk who previously consulted with leading AI developers like Anthropic on machine ethics and consciousness, took center stage to address a pressing contemporary question: Can code truly be conscious?

The session, titled "Can Code Be Conscious? Rethinking the Mind in the Age of AI," drew packed audiences eager to bridge the gap between ancient philosophical traditions and cutting-edge machine learning. As artificial intelligence systems become increasingly autonomous, discussions around algorithmic ethics and the definition of sentience have moved from speculative fiction to boardroom and academic reality.

Culture, Discipline, and National Identity

Shifting from technology to the arts, virtuoso bassist Mohini Dey offered a deeply personal perspective on artistic dedication and her upbringing in India. Reflecting on her rigorous journey in the music industry, Dey emphasized that absolute discipline remains the bedrock of genuine success.

"You have to put time into a relationship, and playing an instrument is no different," Dey shared during her session. Recounting her formative years, she noted, "I didn't party, go to movies, or shopping. I had no friends growing up. I just had school and music."

Dey also reflected on her multicultural roots anchored in Mumbai, expressing deep gratitude for her upbringing in a pluralistic society. "I am fortunate to be born in India where we have so many different cultures... We have mosques and temples existing with each other. We don't judge, we respect each other," she remarked.

A Comprehensive Global Agenda

Beyond technology and culture, the multi-track summit is addressing critical macroeconomic and geopolitical concerns. Panels are systematically dissecting pathways for economic recovery in Sri Lanka, the shifting dynamics of global energy security, healthcare innovations, and international travel protocols.

As the summit progresses, diplomats and industry titans continue to forge strategies aimed at navigating an increasingly fragmented global order, ensuring that technological innovation moves in tandem with ethical governance and cultural preservation.
