PM Modi at World Summit: 'Viksit Bharat' is a Guarantee for a Better Global Order
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India's growth trajectory and vision for 'Viksit Bharat' are designed to support global stability and international cooperation.

Global South Must Have Greater Voice: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sweeping address at a major international policy summit, asserting that the rapidly changing geopolitical landscape necessitates a fundamental overhaul of global institutions. Emphasizing that international cooperation must extend far beyond favorable economic conditions, the Prime Minister highlighted India's expanding role as a stabilizer in world affairs.
Addressing a gathering of global leaders, diplomats, and policy experts, the Prime Minister stressed that the concept of a developed India—Viksit Bharat—serves a broader purpose than domestic advancement alone. "Viksit Bharat is not just for us. It is also a guarantee for a better world," he stated, reinforcing the nation's commitment to global prosperity and resilience.
Shifting Dynamics in Trade and Technology
Highlighting structural vulnerabilities in the contemporary global architecture, the Prime Minister pointed to the weaponization of traditional linkages. He observed that historical connectors of civilization—such as trade routes, technological infrastructure, and maritime corridors—are increasingly becoming arenas of geopolitical friction and strategic competition.
"For decades, trade connected countries, technology bridged distances, sea routes linked economies, and culture and mobility brought different societies closer. But today, these very links are facing new tensions," he remarked. Trade is actively being weaponized, technology is fueling conflict, and critical sea lanes are turning into centers of geopolitical rivalry, he warned.
From 'Manpower' to 'Mindpower'
Detailing India's economic and technological evolution, the Prime Minister noted a decisive shift in the country's global positioning. India has transitioned from offering sheer manpower at scale to driving 'thinking at scale,' transforming its international identity.
"We have moved from 'talent at scale' to 'thinking at scale.' Earlier, the focus was on manpower. Today, it is on India's 'mindpower.' We are interacting with the world not merely as a 'back office,' but as a 'brain office,'" the Prime Minister asserted.
Reforming Global Governance
Critiquing the limitations of legacy multilateral bodies, the Prime Minister called for inclusive institutional reforms that reflect modern geopolitical realities. While acknowledging the historical contributions of organizations like the United Nations, he argued that their structural shortcomings are increasingly evident.
"The United Nations and other global institutions have had their historical role, but in the face of today's challenges, their limits are clearly visible. Now new powers are emerging, new voices are demanding their place, and new challenges are demanding new solutions," he said. The primary task ahead is constructing a global order capable of accommodating these new realities while strengthening cross-border cooperation.
