Congress Never Followed Constitution and Sows Anarchy, Alleges BJP Chief Nitin Nabin
BJP chief Nitin Nabin launched a scathing attack on Congress during his Jharkhand visit, accusing the grand old party of undermining constitutional institutions.

BJP Chief Targets Congress Over Constitutional History
RANCHI — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Nabin launched a scathing attack on the Congress party on Saturday, alleging that the principal opposition outfit has historically disregarded the Constitution and governed the nation arbitrarily.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the BJP's state executive committee meeting during his three-day visit to Jharkhand, Nabin accused political opponents of orchestrating a systematic challenge against India's democratic framework and foundational institutions.
"Today, in the country, there is an attempt to challenge constitutional institutions and democracy. Those who swear by the Constitution have shredded it to pieces," Nabin told party workers and leaders.
Historical Precedents and Emergency Cited
Highlighting past political milestones, the BJP chief pointed to episodes such as the imposition of the Emergency and the frequent invocation of President's Rule across various states under previous Congress administrations.
"From imposing Emergency to President's Rule in many states, Congress never followed the Constitution and ruled the country as per its wishes. Today, those who tried to finish off democracy are lecturing us about it," Nabin asserted.
He further accused the opposition of attempting to cultivate internal anarchy with backing from domestic and external entities.
Criticism of Rahul Gandhi's Stance on Electoral Rolls
Shifting focus to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nabin claimed that the opposition leadership habitually questions constitutional bodies only when politically expedient.
"Rahul Gandhi now questions the country's constitutional institutions, but he never questioned them when the Congress was in power," Nabin remarked.
Addressing recent controversies surrounding electoral rolls in Bihar following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the BJP chief noted that despite a 60-day window allocated for filing claims and objections, the Congress party failed to register a single formal complaint.
Nabin alleged that the rhetoric surrounding 'vote-theft' was a preemptive narrative deployed ahead of assembly elections, and argued that the opposition's primary concern lay outside the protection of genuine voter rights.
"He is not concerned about protecting the votes of the citizens but those of infiltrators. We must firmly stand against this," Nabin declared.
The high-level organizational gathering marks Nabin's first address to the state executive committee following a comprehensive revamp of the state BJP unit by the central leadership, which included the appointment of new office-bearers and organizational in-charges. Prior to the main address, the BJP chief held closed-door consultations with district presidents and organizational heads.
