An APSRTC bus driver was allegedly pulled from his vehicle and beaten by a group of men following a road rage dispute in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Sathya Sai district.

Road Rage Turns Violent in Sri Sathya Sai
An Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus driver fell victim to a violent road rage attack on Wednesday, following a traffic dispute that originated in the neighboring Annamayya district. The incident, which was captured on video and widely circulated online, has sparked widespread concern regarding the safety of public transport personnel.
The victim has been identified as Vemana Naik, who was operating an APSRTC bus assigned to the Kadiri depot. According to local law enforcement, the service was en route from Bengaluru to Kadiri when the confrontation began.
The Dispute and Pursuit
Preliminary investigations indicate that the altercation was triggered when a motorist traveling on a two-wheeler with his mother accused Naik of negligent driving, claiming the bus had endangered their lives. Following a heated verbal exchange on the road, the individual reportedly contacted associates to intercept the vehicle.
The group tracked the bus across district boundaries and eventually intercepted it near Kokkanti Cross—a busy junction situated along the Chennai-Anantapur Highway in the Tanakallu area.
Assault and Police Investigation
According to the formal complaint filed by the driver, the assailants forced him to step down from the bus before physically assaulting him. Visuals from the scene show multiple individuals kicking, slapping, and striking the driver, while bystanders attempted to intervene and halt the violence.
Naik sustained multiple injuries during the attack and subsequently approached local authorities to file a formal report. Police have identified three suspects in connection with the assault: Vishwanath, Ramu, and Madhu Kumar. Law enforcement officials confirmed that active efforts are underway to apprehend the accused and ensure appropriate legal proceedings follow.
