Sensex Jumps 1,000 Points as Markets Rally; Investors Gain Rs 3.5 Lakh Crore
Indian equity benchmarks surged sharply on Monday, with the Sensex climbing 1,000 points and adding Rs 3.5 lakh crore to investor wealth as oil prices eased.

Market Surge Boosts Investor Wealth
Indian equity benchmarks opened on a strong note on Monday, extending gains as broader market sentiment improved significantly. The BSE Sensex rallied by over 1,000 points within the early trading hours, while the Nifty crossed key technical thresholds. The sharp upward trajectory in early trade added an estimated Rs 3.5 lakh crore to overall investor wealth.
Simultaneously, the Indian rupee recovered slightly against the US dollar, appreciating 7 paise to trade at 94.89 compared to its previous close of 94.96. Analysts attribute the macroeconomic relief partly to a cooling trend in global crude oil markets.
Energy Prices and Commodity Rebound
Global crude benchmarks saw downward pressure, with WTI crude retreating below the $102 per barrel mark. Market participants are reassessing the geopolitical risk premium that drove prices higher during the previous week. While the correction provides short-term relief for energy importers, analysts note that ongoing Middle East supply sensitivities continue to pose structural risks.
In the metals segment, gold and silver are attempting a technical recovery following a steep liquidation phase at the end of October. Market experts observe that silver is leading the rebound with higher percentage gains, though the gold-to-silver ratio remains elevated near 79, underscoring silver's prior underperformance.
Avaada Electro Secures Major ALMM Milestone
In corporate developments, Avaada Electro Limited—the solar manufacturing arm of the Avaada Group—achieved a major regulatory milestone. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) enlisted 7,117 MW (7.117 GW) of the company's N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity under the 13th revision of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II.
The inclusion reinforces India's domestic renewable manufacturing ecosystem. Key highlights from the listing include Avaada's G12 N-type TOPCon technology, which features manufacturer-declared maximum cell efficiencies of up to 26.8% and a highest listed average cell efficiency of 25.89%.
