Professional Power Systems Training

The Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) has announced a high-profile internship initiative tailored for engineering students and advanced research scholars specializing in power systems and allied engineering fields. The program offers successful applicants an attractive monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 for an initial engagement period of six months.

According to official announcements, the upcoming 2026 cohort features 15 coveted positions distributed strategically across six regional and national load dispatch centres. Aspirants who meet the rigorous academic benchmarks are required to submit their applications digitally ahead of the final deadline on November 6, 2026.

Strict Eligibility and Academic Requirements

The structured internship is designed exclusively for high-achieving candidates currently pursuing or holding advanced qualifications in electrical engineering and power sector disciplines.

* Undergraduate Candidates: Applicants pursuing or holding a B.E. or B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Power), Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Power Engineering must demonstrate a minimum aggregate of 65% marks or an equivalent CGPA. * Postgraduate Scholars: Those enrolled in or holding M.Tech., M.E., or Master of Science by Research (MSR) programs focusing on Power Systems or closely related domains are eligible to apply. * Doctoral Candidates: Active Ph.D. scholars specializing in Power Systems research are also encouraged to participate.

Additionally, applicants must fall within the age bracket of 18 to 32 years to qualify for consideration.

Transparent Selection Framework

The selection procedure bypasses traditional written examinations, opting instead for a comprehensive merit-based evaluation of candidate profiles against predefined academic and professional criteria. Officials emphasize that meeting the baseline eligibility parameters does not automatically guarantee selection, as competition for these specialized national grid positions remains intense.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates seeking to secure a placement in the 2026 cohort must navigate to the official GRID-INDIA web portal, access the careers section, and complete the digital application workflow under the current openings tab. Applicants are strongly advised to keep all supporting educational credentials, identity proofs, and academic mark sheets ready before initiating the submission process, ensuring all data is verified prior to the November 6 deadline.
