Indira Gandhi National Open University launches the Online Assignment Management System for December 2026 TEE with a November 20 deadline.

IGNOU Streamlines Assignment Submissions for December 2026 TEE
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially introduced the Online Assignment Management System (OAMS) for the upcoming December 2026 Term-End Examination (TEE). Eligible students enrolled across open, distance learning, and online programs can now upload their academic assignments through the newly integrated portal.
According to an official Ministry of Education release, students are required to upload their course-specific assignments directly through their IGNOU Samarth student accounts. The modernized infrastructure is designed to streamline the process, enabling students to receive instant submission acknowledgements online while tracking the live status of their assignment evaluations.
Dr. Umesh Chandra Pandey, senior regional director and head of the IGNOU Regional Centre in Bhopal, emphasized that the initiative leverages technology to make vital student services significantly more accessible and transparent. University authorities have advised all eligible candidates to complete their submissions well ahead of the final deadline and strictly adhere to institutional guidelines.
Step-by-Step Guide to Uploading Assignments
To ensure successful processing through the OAMS portal, students must comply with specific formatting and submission protocols:
- Handwritten Format: All assignment answers must be written out by hand before being scanned. - File Specifications: Scanned pages for each individual course must be consolidated into a single PDF file, with a strict maximum file size of 20 MB. - Mandatory Cover Details: The very first page of every submitted assignment must clearly display the student's full name, enrolment number, study centre code, course code, regional centre code and name, and active email address.
Students are strongly urged to verify that each uploaded document is accurately mapped to the correct academic program, course, and examination session prior to final submission.
Who Is Exempt From Online Submission?
Certain categories of students are not required to utilize the newly launched OAMS portal:
- Students who have already successfully passed and cleared the assignments for a specific course. - Candidates who have previously submitted their relevant assignments in hard copy format directly to their designated study centre or regional centre for the December 2026 TEE.
Tracking Status and Important Warnings
Upon successful submission, the OAMS portal will generate an official digital acknowledgement, which will also be automatically dispatched to the student's registered email address. Candidates can subsequently log into their respective IGNOU Samarth accounts at any time to monitor the evaluation progress of their assignments.
In an official clarification, IGNOU reiterated a strict prohibition against emailing assignments to regional centres or any other administrative university office. The administration has warned that submissions sent via direct email will be summarily rejected and will not be considered for evaluation.
