Overview of NWR Apprentice Recruitment 2026
The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur, has officially commenced the application process for 2,008 apprentice training positions for the academic session 2026-27. Operating under Notification No. 04/2026, the recruitment drive aims to fill training slots across multiple divisions and railway workshops.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the official RRC Jaipur web portal before the final deadline on November 22, 2026.
Eligibility and Qualifications
To qualify for the apprenticeship programme, applicants must meet specific educational and age criteria set by the railway authorities:
* Educational Qualification: Candidates must have successfully passed Class 10 from a recognized board, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. * Technical Qualification: Applicants must hold a National Trade Certificate or ITI certificate issued by either the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT). * Age Limits: The prescribed age bracket is 15 to 24 years as of November 22, 2026. Standard age relaxations apply to candidates belonging to reserved categories in accordance with government guidelines.
Selection Procedure and Merit Calculation
A notable aspect of this recruitment drive is that no written examination will be conducted. Instead, selection will be carried out purely on the basis of a centralized merit list. This merit list will be prepared by evaluating the marks obtained by candidates in their Class 10 examinations alongside their ITI qualifications.
Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for document verification and other mandatory administrative formalities.
Distribution of Slots and Fee Structure
The 2,008 apprenticeship openings are distributed across various key jurisdictions, including the Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur divisions, as well as designated regional railway workshops.
Applicants falling under the Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories are required to pay a nominal application fee of Rs 100. Meanwhile, complete fee exemptions are granted to female applicants, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.
