Design Entrance Exams 2027: Deadline Approaches

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is preparing to close the regular registration window for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) and the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027. Candidates aspiring to secure admission into premier design programs across the country must complete their application process before the deadline expires.

Following the conclusion of the regular registration phase, applicants who miss the initial timeline will still have an opportunity to apply using a late fee structure, which remains active through early November.

Eligibility Criteria and Academic Pathways

UCEED 2027 Eligibility

Students who have successfully passed their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2026, or those currently appearing for the examination in 2027 across any academic stream—whether Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities—are eligible to register for UCEED 2027.

CEED 2027 Eligibility

For candidates eyeing postgraduate and advanced design programs through CEED, specific academic milestones are mandatory. Applicants must have completed, or be in the final year of completing, a minimum three-year graduate degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree program following their 10+2 education. Alternatively, candidates who have passed the five-year Government Diploma in Art (G. D. Art) after Class 10 are also eligible, provided the requirement is fulfilled by July 2027.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Eligible candidates seeking to appear for the examinations scheduled for January 17, 2027, can complete their submissions online through the official portal by following these steps:

* Navigate to the official examination portal. * Access the active registration link on the primary landing page. * Register using a valid mobile number and email address to generate initial credentials. * Log in to the designated applicant portal using the credentials delivered via email. * Complete the application form by supplying accurate personal, academic, and contact details. * Upload all required supporting documents strictly adhering to the specified format and dimension guidelines. * Finalize the submission by paying the requisite application fee through the secure online gateway. * Download and retain a physical or digital copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Examination Cities

To accommodate aspirants nationwide, IIT Bombay has designated a select network of 30 testing centers across India. The examinations will be conducted in major urban hubs including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, and several other regional centers to ensure broad accessibility for candidates.
