Tragedy Strikes Kothapet Apartment

A domestic dispute in a residential apartment in Hyderabad's Kothapet area turned fatal on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old security guard. The victim, identified as Kotam Prabhakar, succumbed to severe stab wounds sustained during a heated altercation with his wife.

According to local law enforcement, the incident occurred at approximately 9:20 AM on October 31. Prabhakar, who was employed as a security guard, lived in the rented accommodation with his wife, 45-year-old Rajitha, and their two daughters.

Investigation and Police Response

Preliminary inquiries indicate that an argument erupted between the couple over family matters, which quickly escalated. During the confrontation, Rajitha allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and inflicted a deep stab wound to Prabhakar's chest.

Suffering from severe blood loss, the victim collapsed at the scene. Alarmed by the altercation, the couple's daughters immediately contacted emergency services by dialing 108. Prabhakar was rushed to Omni Hospital in Kothapet, but attending physicians declared him brought dead upon arrival.

Inspector K. Saidulu confirmed the sequence of events, noting the critical blood loss sustained by the victim prior to medical intervention.

Legal Action Taken

The Chaitanyapuri police station registered a formal murder case following a complaint filed by the victim's younger brother, Kotam Vijayabhaskar. The charge has been filed under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

Authorities have taken the suspect, Rajitha, into custody. Malkajgiri Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravinder Reddy stated that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading up to the fatal stabbing and to gather all relevant forensic and circumstantial evidence.
