Inside the 8-Month Plot: How the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Executed the Attack on Tiger Shroff
New investigative details reveal an eight-month conspiracy, three specialised hit squads, and encrypted communications behind the recent shooting targeting actor Tiger Shroff.

A Meticulous Conspiracy Uncovered
Investigators probing the brazen shooting incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have uncovered a sophisticated, eight-month criminal conspiracy orchestrated by factions of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Law enforcement sources reveal that the operation involved precise planning, compartmentalised divisions of labour, and the extensive use of encrypted communication channels to evade detection.
The attack unfolded on the evening of October 18, when at least two armed assailants opened fire near Shroff's vehicle as he exited the Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai's Juhu area following a football match. While the 36-year-old actor escaped unhurt, the incident immediately triggered a high-level security response and a sweeping multi-agency investigation.
Three Specialised Squads and Financial Backing
According to police findings, gangster Anil Pandit provided the substantial financial backing required to sustain the lengthy operation. Rather than a spontaneous act of violence, the conspiracy was meticulously structured across three distinct operational units:
* The Intelligence Cell: The first group was tasked exclusively with long-term reconnaissance, mapping out the target's movements, and gathering critical vulnerability data. * The Procurement Unit: The second squad managed the sourcing and acquisition of illicit firearms. * The Transit Team: The third faction bore the responsibility of securely transporting the weapons into Mumbai ahead of the hit.
Investigators state that the primary motives behind the targeted assault included extortion, establishing criminal dominance, and cultivating an environment of pervasive fear within the film industry. The gang has previously linked its actions to Shroff's perceived proximity to actor Salman Khan, who has remained a primary target of the syndicate amidst ongoing threats tied to historical controversies.
The Digital Trail: Encrypted Hurdles
A major hurdle for investigators has been decoding the communication network used by the perpetrators. The conspirators reportedly relied heavily on privacy-focused, internet-based messaging applications—specifically "Signal" and "Zangi"—which allow for registration and communication without tying accounts to traditional mobile phone numbers.
Despite these digital barriers, the ongoing crackdown has yielded 11 arrests so far. Among them, suspects identified as Rehan, Pranjal, and Kunal were found to have been in direct contact with the primary mastermind, Anil Pandit, via these encrypted channels. Cyber forensics teams are currently working to reconstruct the digital transcripts to trace Pandit's exact whereabouts and dismantle the remaining network infrastructure.
