Investigation Underway After Bold Daylight Heist

A routine street food break proved exceptionally costly for a Jaipur businessman, who lost Rs 20 lakh in cash to two helmet-wearing thieves while briefly stopping to eat a local snack.

The incident, which has since drawn widespread attention following the circulation of CCTV footage, occurred on Monday within the jurisdiction of the Nahargarh police station. According to local law enforcement, the businessman—identified as Champalal—had stopped around 4:00 PM to buy a Rs 20 kachori.

Swift Execution by Perpetrators

Surveillance footage from the area captures Champalal sitting calmly on his scooter, holding his snack. Moments later, two unidentified suspects riding a separate scooter pull up alongside him. The pillion rider swiftly grabs a bag containing the cash resting near the front of Champalal's vehicle before the pair accelerates away.

Despite Champalal's immediate pursuit on foot—with the kachori still in his hand—and the efforts of nearby residents who joined the chase, the suspects successfully evaded capture.

Police Response and Security Review

Local authorities have registered a formal case based on Champalal's complaint. Investigators are currently reviewing extensive CCTV footage along the escape route in an effort to identify the suspects, who maintained their helmets on during the entirety of the brazen theft.

Police have urged local business owners and citizens to exercise heightened caution when transporting large sums of currency, advising against leaving unattended cash bags accessible on vehicles, even for brief moments.
