A routine evening in Ludhiana’s Vikas Nagar turned into a horrifying crime scene when a 49-year-old woman was found brutally murdered inside her residence on Pakhowal Road. The victim, identified as Kamaldeep Kaur, sustained fatal stab wounds to her back and abdomen, which medical professionals confirmed severed vital blood vessels.

According to local law enforcement, the primary suspect is the victim's husband, 48-year-old Ravinder Singh. The couple had reportedly returned to India just last Friday after spending the previous six months residing in Australia.

The Sequence of Events

Investigators piecing together the timeline of Saturday evening learned that the couple's adult son, Gagandeep Singh, had been sent out of the house on an errand between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm. Upon his return, Gagandeep made the gruesome discovery of his mother lying motionless and covered in blood on their bedroom floor.

Alarmed by the sudden commotion, a neighbor identified as Narinder Kaur rushed to the scene after noticing the property's main entrance wide open. She heard Gagandeep's desperate cries for help as neighbors gathered outside the residence.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Dugri Police Station officials acted swiftly, apprehending the accused husband shortly after the incident was reported. Station Officer Gurmukh Singh confirmed that a formal investigation is currently underway to uncover the precise motive behind the brutal attack.

Preliminary inquiries point toward deep-seated marital discord and unfounded suspicions regarding an alleged affair, which investigators believe triggered frequent arguments between the couple. Furthermore, initial statements from the family suggest the accused attempted to obstruct the investigation by washing the murder weapon and concealing it before authorities arrived.
