Veteran Politician Under Observation
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to a private hospital in Pune on Monday following complaints of pleuritic pain, family and medical sources confirmed. The 85-year-old veteran leader was brought to Ruby Hall Clinic after experiencing a severe bout of cough.
Providing an update on his health, his daughter, Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule, took to social media to reassure supporters.
"Baba has been admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune, following a bout of cough. He is undergoing medical tests, and all his health parameters are stable. Thank you all for your concern and good wishes," Sule stated in her public post.
Medical Evaluation and Prognosis
Attending physicians noted that Pawar was admitted as a precautionary measure to allow for a thorough medical evaluation. Dr Purvez K Grant, chief cardiologist, chairman, and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, stated that the leader's condition is expected to settle down shortly while he remains under close medical observation.
Pleuritic pain is clinically defined as chest pain that typically intensifies during breathing, coughing, or sneezing due to inflammation of the pleura, the moist membranes that line the lungs and the inner chest cavity.
Daily News 365 will continue to track developments regarding Mr Pawar's health and provide official updates as they are released by the medical team.
