Telangana BJP MP Eatala Rajender Vows to Continue Padayatra Until Congress Government Falls
BJP MP Eatala Rajender has escalated his confrontation with the ruling Congress, declaring his padayatra will continue until the Revanth Reddy administration is ousted.

Escalating Political Confrontation in Telangana
Telangana's political landscape is witnessing a sharp resurgence of high-stakes padayatra politics, with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Eatala Rajender declaring that his ongoing march will not cease until the ruling Congress government is removed from power.
Speaking out against critics from the ruling party who allegedly dismissed his march as a political stroll, the Malkajgiri MP fired a direct salvo at the administration. "The Congress party holds a press conference every three days and claims that this MP has no work," Rajender said. "If they think I am wandering around without work, remember, I will continue doing the same work until your government is overthrown."
The Jawaharnagar Jan Sankalpa Yatra
Rajender's aggressive stance came during his intensive four-day, 60-kilometer Jawaharnagar Jan Sankalpa Yatra, which commenced from Edulabad. The core immediate objective of the march is to protest the severe environmental degradation and public health hazards caused by the Jawaharnagar dumping yard, an issue that has drawn significant local outcry.
This localized agitation has quickly scaled into a broader state-level political weapon for the saffron party. The momentum was further amplified following Union Home Minister Amit Shah's high-profile padayatra in Hyderabad under the banner of "Loktantra Bachao, Arachakata Hatao" (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy).
A Legacy of Marching to Power
Padayatras have long served as decisive crucible moments in Telugu political history, frequently preceding regime changes. Political analysts note a well-established precedent:
* 2003: Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy embarked on a nearly 1,470-km padayatra, paving the way for Congress's victory in 2004. * 2012-2013: N. Chandrababu Naidu undertook the 2,817-km 'Vastunna Meekosam' march, leading to the Telugu Desam Party's return to power in 2014. * 2017-2019: Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy completed a massive 3,648-km Praja Sankalpa Yatra, preceding the YSRCP's landslide triumph in 2019. * Recent Precedents: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself led a major statewide padayatra ahead of the pivotal 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, while opposition figures like BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao have also announced plans for future statewide marches.
With assembly elections slated for 2028, the aggressive revival of pedestrian political campaigns by leaders across party lines signals an intensely combative electoral buildup in Telangana.
