Tragedy in Greater Noida: Father and 11-Year-Old Son Fall to Death from 23rd Floor Balcony While Collecting Flowers
A 40-year-old man and his son plunged from the 23rd floor of a residential society in Greater Noida while gathering flowers for a morning puja, police said.

Morning Ritual Turns Fatal
A routine morning preparation turned into an unspeakable tragedy in Greater Noida's Bisrakh area on Friday, when a 40-year-old man and his 11-year-old son fell to their deaths from the balcony of their 23rd-floor apartment.
The incident, which sent shockwaves through the Mahagun Mywoods Society, occurred early in the morning at Tower 23. According to local law enforcement, the victims have been identified as Randeep Patra and his son, Aarav.
Sequence of Events
Preliminary investigations by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate indicate that the family was preparing to depart early for a visit to the Khatu Shyam Temple. In preparation for the journey, the father and son stepped out onto the high-rise balcony to collect flowers for a morning prayer ritual.
Investigators believe the young boy accidentally slipped while reaching for blossoms and was left dangling precariously from the balcony railing. In a desperate bid to rescue his child, Randeep Patra attempted to pull him back to safety, but reportedly lost his balance, causing both to plunge from the 23rd floor.
Official Response and Investigation
The Bisrakh police station received an emergency alert via a Police Response Vehicle (PRV) shortly after the incident. Officers rushed to the scene and found both father and son severely injured. They were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, where attending physicians pronounced them dead upon arrival.
Local authorities have completed the initial inquest proceedings and initiated the process to send the bodies for post-mortem examinations. Police stated that a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the fatal fall.
