Washington Update

US President Donald Trump is facing renewed scrutiny following the release of a congressional report by House Democrats that includes detailed sexual assault allegations from a former beauty pageant contestant.

The 53-page document, compiled by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, revives historical misconduct claims and features an interview with Beatrice Keul, a former model and Miss Switzerland. Keul alleges that Trump raped her in November 1993 inside a hotel room at the Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City, following interactions that involved the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Allegations and Congressional Report

According to the committee's report, Keul stated she initially met Trump when she was 24 years old at a pageant event hosted in New York. The document outlines claims that Trump promised to assist her with visa arrangements and admission to New York University before directing her to meet associates, leading to the alleged incident in Atlantic City.

The congressional publication also examines Trump's historical association with Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking trial proceedings. While Trump has consistently maintained that he severed ties with Epstein years before criminal investigations emerged, his name features repeatedly in related documents released following legislative action.

White House Response

In an official statement, the White House strongly rejected the findings and timing of the report. A spokesperson characterized the document as a politically motivated maneuver designed to detract from public attention regarding the administration's policy achievements and ongoing political momentum.

Legal representatives and political allies of the President have continuously dismissed the accusations, emphasizing that Trump has not faced criminal charges regarding these historical allegations and maintaining that the revived claims lack verifiable corroboration outside of the committee's published interviews.
