Mumbai Police Uncover Wider Bollywood Threat Matrix

Investigators probing the high-profile shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff have uncovered a broader conspiracy by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, revealing that several major Bollywood figures, including superstar Aamir Khan, were primary targets of the syndicate.

According to findings from the Mumbai Police, operatives linked to the transnational gang spent approximately a month conducting extensive reconnaissance around Aamir Khan's Bandra residence. The surveillance involved multiple visits in the weeks leading up to the October 18 attack on Tiger Shroff's vehicle in Juhu.

However, security measures and the actor's frequent travel schedules ultimately disrupted the syndicate's plans. Sources close to the investigation indicated that Aamir Khan was frequently away for film shoots or remained indoors for extended periods, making him a difficult target for the operatives.

Shift in Target to Tiger Shroff

With high-security figures like Salman Khan—whose Galaxy Apartments residence was also surveyed—and Aamir Khan proving difficult to access, the attackers altered their strategy. The gang pivoted to Tiger Shroff after tracking his routine through social media platforms, discovering that the actor regularly visited a local sports ground in Juhu on Sundays.

On the evening of October 18, two suspects on a motorcycle opened fire on Shroff's vehicle as it navigated through Juhu. While the actor escaped unhurt, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.

Multi-State Crackdown and Wanted Suspects

The ongoing investigation has seen a massive multi-state crackdown, with Mumbai Police arresting 11 individuals across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. Authorities have identified gangster Anil Pandit—an alleged US-based associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who publicly claimed responsibility for the attack on social media—as a primary wanted suspect.

In addition to the physical reconnaissance, law enforcement agencies are analyzing viral audio clips and social media posts attributed to syndicate members that attempt to frame the threats within ideological narratives. Police officials maintain that the overarching objective of the conspiracy was to instill widespread terror within the film industry and target prominent cultural figures.

The Mumbai Police investigation remains active, with security details around several prominent Bollywood personalities heightened in the wake of the disclosures.
