Fatal Collision on Chirawa-Mandrela Road

JAIPUR — A late-night tragedy struck Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district on Wednesday when a speeding Mahindra Thar SUV collided head-on with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of three local residents. The accident, which has sparked local outrage and road blockades, occurred along the stretch between Sheopura and Bhomapura on the Chirawa-Mandrela road.

According to local law enforcement authorities, the victims have been identified as Rajesh Saini (45), Omprakash Saini (58), and a third individual identified simply as Ashok. All three men hailed from the nearby Sultana Ka Bas village and were traveling toward Kopariya Kuan on a single motorcycle when the crash took place.

Hospital Admissions and Casualties

The impact of the collision was severe. Rajesh Saini and Omprakash Saini sustained fatal injuries and were rushed to the Chirawa sub-district hospital, where attending medical staff pronounced them dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, Ashok was initially admitted in critical condition. Given the severity of his trauma, hospital administrators quickly arranged to transfer him to a higher medical facility in Jaipur. However, police confirmed that Ashok succumbed to his injuries while en route to the capital city.

Public Unrest and Police Response

The double tragedy immediately triggered palpable anger among local residents and villagers. In the wake of the accident, a large group of protesters took to the Chirawa-Mandrela road, blocking traffic and demanding stricter measures against reckless driving and speeding vehicles in the region.

The demonstration prompted a swift response from district administration and local police, who deployed additional personnel to the area to restore public order, clear the obstruction, and calm the grieving crowd.

Authorities have stated that the bodies of the victims were transferred back to the Chirawa sub-district hospital for post-mortem examinations. An official investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the collision and the whereabouts of the driver of the Mahindra Thar is currently underway.
