Security Forces Capture Suspect in Multi-Year Murder Investigation

Security forces in Uganda have successfully apprehended a man accused of carrying out one of the most gruesome sprees in the nation's modern history. Identified by military authorities as Mujurizi Moses, the suspect is accused of murdering and consuming 38 individuals across multiple districts over a 15-year period between 2010 and 2025.

The high-profile arrest was officially announced by Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, through a public statement on social media on Monday evening. General Kainerugaba characterized Moses as one of the country's worst recorded serial killers and cannibals, confirming that the suspect will face a formal public trial followed by execution.

"I am glad to inform our fellow citizens that the security forces have arrested the evil Mujurizi Moses," General Kainerugaba stated in his announcement. "The worst serial killer and cannibal in Uganda's history. He killed and ate 38 people between 2010 and 2025 in Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo. We will try him in public and definitely execute him."

Pattern of Brutality Across Multiple Districts

According to preliminary briefings from local investigators, Moses' alleged reign of terror spanned the districts of Masaka, Ibanda, and Kazo. Investigators indicate that the suspect frequently targeted entire families, utilizing covert break-ins and machete attacks to subdue his victims.

Among the cases being scrutinized by law enforcement is a particularly violent home invasion targeting Pentecostal pastor Steven Mugambe, where occupants were brutally hacked to death by individuals reportedly linked to Moses and his network. In other instances, investigators claim the suspect lured targets under the false pretext of forming romantic relationships before executing the assaults.

Local reports and law enforcement records indicate that Moses had managed to evade justice or slip away from custody on several prior occasions under disputed circumstances before this week's decisive capture.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Following the raid and subsequent arrest, forensic teams and local authorities recovered physical evidence from the suspect's residence. Regional homicide detectives are currently cross-referencing unresolved missing-person files and cold case records to determine the full scope of the alleged crimes.

While military and security leadership have expressed absolute certainty regarding the prosecution and sentencing, legal experts emphasize that the formal allegations must still be thoroughly established and tested through Uganda's judicial system during the promised public trial.
