Jharkhand Shocker: Medical Facility Sealed After Stray Dog Found Roaming With Foetus in Palamu
Authorities in Jharkhand have sealed a private hospital and ultrasound center after an eight-month-old foetus was found in the mouth of a stray dog near a medical college.

Investigation Underway After Horrific Discovery in Palamu
In a deeply disturbing incident that has sparked widespread outrage, authorities in Jharkhand’s Palamu district have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 11 individuals following the discovery of an eight-month-old foetus in the mouth of a stray dog.
The grim incident came to light on Tuesday within the premises of the Medinirai Medical College and Hospital. Eyewitness accounts and subsequent local investigations revealed that the stray animal was seen traversing the hospital grounds carrying the remains, triggering immediate panic and condemnation from locals and officials alike.
Illegal Abortion at Nearby Facility
Initial inquiries by the district administration traced the origin of the foetus to a private medical establishment located approximately 100 meters away from the government-run medical college.
According to findings by health authorities, a 16-year-old girl had undergone an illegal abortion procedure at the facility. Investigators established that the nearly eight-month-old foetus resulting from the procedure was subsequently discarded improperly near the medical college premises.
Strict Legal Action and Facility Sealing
Acting swiftly on the preliminary findings, the district administration ordered the immediate sealing of the implicated establishments—Uttam Hospital and Nipun Ultrasound Center—where the unlawful termination was allegedly performed.
Law enforcement officials have registered a comprehensive FIR against 11 people linked to the operation of the private facilities and the illegal disposal of the remains. The accused face charges under stringent legal frameworks, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) Act, and the Clinical Establishments Act.
Police Scrutinize Evidence and CCTV Footage
Daily News 365 has learned that local police are actively reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the surrounding area to identify the individuals responsible for transporting and discarding the foetus on the hospital grounds.
"We are examining all available evidence, including medical records from the sealed clinic and digital footage, to ensure every person culpable in this appalling negligence faces the full force of the law," a senior district police official stated.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to audit the operations of unregulated private clinics operating in the vicinity of major medical institutions across the region.
